Nathan's First Birthday

This has been completely crazy to have all these birthday parties back to back but i guess i should just get used to it because this is how its going to be forever and ever. As of right now, i never want to see another birthday cake for a very, very long time. It all was a lot of fun though, a little crazy but fun. Nathan had a little celebration at home, just like Frankie. Except he had a toy story party, which all my kiddo's over here are totally into. He had a buzz lightyear cake and decorations...

I was really anticipating how he would react to his birthday cake, if he would dig right in or cry like Frankie did on his first birthday. But he wasn't to interested in it. He didn't cry, he didn't dive right in, he looked at us like we were crazy for putting this cake in front of him. Slowly but surely, he warmed up to it but he never got too messy. He took a few little bites but for the most part, he wasn't that into it....

But Jenna and Frankie certainly loved the cake...

It was nice to have his birthday at home, it was laid back with no problems. Just our little family... I know i have said this before but I'm so happy to see Nathan turn 1. After all he has been through so far, this day means a lot to me. It feels like just yesterday i brought home this little 4 pound baby and being so worried that i might break him. Wow, it is really quite a milestone, isn't it?? My miracle baby is ONE!!!!! Im blessed, truly blessed.

Father's Day

June is a pretty busy month for us with all of our birthdays but no matter what i wanted to make sure father's day was special. Especially because 2008 father's day i just gave birth to Frankie and the 2009 father's day i was in the hospital also because of the complications with my pregnancy. So needless to say, he's been pushed to the back burner for the past two years, as far as father's day. He has been here for better or worse for the kids and I, i just wish there was more i can do or say to him to let him know how much i appreciate and love him. I wouldn't be the mom or person i am today if it wasn't for him, as corny as it sounds he completes me. He balances me out and keeps me level headed. Not only that but he does everything for our kids, he gives baths, changes diapers, plays with them, cooks, cleans, and i could just keep going. He is the best dad in the whole world. So our father's day started with cooking daddy breakfast, he wanted waffles, yum yum. Then we gave daddy his gifts which was 2 blackhawk's shirt's, hat, and a large grilling plate which the kids and i specially made. It has the kid's footprint's and names on it with a flag in the background.

^The Boys shirts say " I get my handsome from my dad" :) As you can also tell we couldn't quite get the best father's day pic but we tried.
So after the boys naps we went to the pool and had some fun in the sun

^Look at my cute family

^Now this is hilarious, Frankie was swimming around the pool in his floatie and he insisted on having his sippy cup. His sippy cup is like his security blanket, he doesn't go anywhere without even the pool.

^Nathan's first time in the pool and he hated it

^Look at my little fish, she loves the water.

^Handsome little man

^Took a break from the pool for mama to get a cute brother and sister pic!! :)
We ended the night with another jakubowski family night, we watched the princess and the frog! :)
I want to end this by saying that this father's day is really special to us because next year frank will be deployed. Not only is he a daddy but he is a hero, and we love him so much. So this was a great day for us and i know daddy loved it too.

Jenna's 6th Birthday Party at The Mad Platter

I wish i could say this birthday party ran absolutely smooth but it did not by any means. We went to go pick up this custom made princess castle cake that i purposely ordered two weeks early and when we arrived the cops were blocking off the parking lot. Let me remind you that this was 30 minutes before the start time of Jenna's party, THE GROCERY STORE HAD A FIRE ALARM GOING OFF!!! What my luck, what my luck, what my luck!!! We sat there for 10 minutes but we couldn't wait much longer, we had to leave to set up for her party, so frank decided he would drop me off and he would go back to get the cake, hoping that everything would be cleared up by then. So i set up the party and everyone arrives, still no frank with cake. So everyone is painting their pottery and i went to call frank and then i realize i don't have my cell, then i look for the camera, frank has it in the diaper bag which is with him!! So i call frank with a friend's cell phone, he tells me that they don't have the cake ready because of the fire alarm, which is crap because it was supposed to already be done. UHHHH!! so i tell him to leave and forget the cake, i need the camera. So i don't have any pictures from the beginning of the party but oh well. So my friend offers to go buy an already made cake, which was so generous of her, so i accepted her offer! :) As all this is happening Jenna's party is going on. So the cake arrives, thank you Evelyn, but i have no knife, cake server, ice cream scoop, or lighter for the candle. This is just not my day, i was so unprepared. Thankfully the mad platter had all those things for me, i guess I'm not the only mom to forget those things, at least i tell myself that to make myself feel better, lol. But all of that drama didn't even matter to the kids, they didn't even notice all the HOOPLA in the background. Jenna loved her cake even though it wasn't the big, fancy castle cake that we originally ordered. Jenna just loved seeing all her friends and being the birthday girl for the day. But we pulled it all together and after the party i took a nice, long nap!! :) So here it is.. the birthday party....My big girl's 6th one!! Well she's not 6 quite yet, that is the on 25th of June....

^Her birthday table with her party favors and other fun stuff. The mad platter made that cute plate for Jenna's birthday party

^Here are the first picture's i got once the camera arrived, which was after the painting and the beginning of the pizza lunch.

^here is the birthday cake, not exactly what was planned as you know but still delicious.

^I'm bringing Jenna her birthday cake, how exciting

^ See that smile, isn't she so cute? This is everyone singing happy birthday to her.

^We were trying to get a quick family picture but Frankie ran off back to his cake and ice cream. How surprising, huh??

^MMMMM, enjoying cake with her friends.

^Bradley, Jenna, and Susanna being silly girls

^And yes we finally got a family pic at the end of the party right before we cleaned up. Look at my perfect little family!! :) All and all the party was great and she got great gifts from great friends.

Party for Frankie

For Frankie's birthday party we just had a little celebration at the house with just us. That morning, i decorated the house with balloons, a banner, and tried to make it as festive as i could in my little dining room area. I thought it came out real cute...

So then we did presents first, even though traditionally you open gifts after the cake but we weren't having cake til after dinner and we didn't want to wait that long to let him open them. He got a dump truck and a bulldozer. They are so cool, they move and make all sorts of sounds. He also got 2 hockey sticks with pucks, they are soft, so hopefully no one will be getting their teeth knocked out. He hasn't stopped playing with his trucks since he opened them, it was the perfect gifts

Actually he especially loved the dump truck. Over everything that was his absolute favorite, he favored it so much that he didn't want anyone to touch it or play with it... the pictures will show...

^Nathan loved the dump truck also, so he crawled on over to Frankie hoping he could play with it. OHH NOO thought birthday boy...

^Here is Frankie trying to make a quick getaway with his brand new truck.. but as you can see Nathan is crawling right behind. Nathan is determined and not going to give up that easily.....

^But Frankie is older and wiser... He just took his truck and brought it on the couch because Nathan cant get up there. Awww, poor Nathan... Frankie is not being a very gracious birthday boy, huh?? OHH the joy of siblings....

^So poor, little defeated Nathan just gave up and went over to play with the bulldozer, lol.

So after dinner was cake. I got this adorable cake which went with the whole construction theme. He loved being the center of attention all day and he really loved all of us singing happy birthday to him. He couldn't get the exact concept to blow out the candle but his big sister helped him. He just wanted to dig into his cake, Frankie has quite a sweet tooth. It was such a great birthday, we didn't have to have anything huge to make it special. We spent all day together playing with toys and celebrating our birthday boy turning two.

Happy 2nd Birthday my silly frankie

To my silly Frankie....You make us laugh everyday, you put a smile on my face the second i get you out of your crib in the morning, you grab the bull by the horns, you drive me crazy but i love it, you make your sister giggle, you are daddy's wrestling partner, lady's man, you say sorry and give kisses after you have been bad,you SOMETIMES give the toy back to Nathan after you stole it from him,you love long family walks, you cant go anywhere without a full sippy cup of juice or milk, your favorite song is wheels on the bus, your name(Frank Daniel) is very important because you are named after your grandpa's,and you are a great addition to this family...
Thank you for these 2 beautiful years you have been in our lives. I cant wait to see you grow and mature. Happy Birthday my darling boy, you are a pure joy.
